Privacy Policy

Overview

Baby Names is designed with privacy by default. We do not require you to create an account, provide your name, email address, or any personal information to use the app.

Data we collect

• Anonymous device ID — a randomly generated UUID stored securely in your device's Keychain. It is never linked to your identity.
• Swipe decisions — which names you liked or passed on, associated only with your anonymous ID.
• Session codes — temporary 6-character codes used to connect with your partner. Sessions can be deleted at any time from within the app.
• App preferences — filter settings (gender, language, name length) stored locally on your device.

Data we do NOT collect

• Name, email, phone number, or any contact information
• Location data
• Photos or camera access
• Contacts or address book
• Health or biometric data
• Device advertising identifiers (IDFA, IDFV)

How we use your data

• To show you names you haven't reviewed yet across sessions
• To match your likes with your partner's likes
• To keep your session connected across devices

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.

Data storage

All server-side data is stored on Cloudflare infrastructure (Cloudflare D1), subject to Cloudflare's privacy and security standards.

Data retention & deletion

You can reset all your swipes at any time from within the app. Deleting the app removes all locally stored preferences and your anonymous ID from the device. To request deletion of server-side data, contact us by email.

Children's privacy

Baby Names is intended for adults (expecting parents and couples). We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
